Engine from Delta HF Turbo of my friend Rafał – car came from England in very good technical condition – just in need of painting corrections. Repair reason was unsealing of oil filter – it leads to scratch of acetabulum rod. Initially it looks like ordinary repair, but finally we decide to have more fun with it…
And raised 1.6 16v turbo engine. Head came from engine with increased capacity 2.0 16vT, modified camshafts. Pistons selected in order to détente the engine. Shaft (changed into standard not broken one) with flywheel balanced, alignment mass of pistons and connecting rods. Exhaust manifold with turbo exchanged for more efficient ones. Suction collector is a part which was built from scratch – respectively profiled with special length of canals into all of cylinders. Engine start was kind of hard, but several attempts and preliminary regulations…and motor action seems to be aligned. After warm up the engine, it reach 4 bars pressure on idle speed, which was shocking for me in positive way … 🙂
Attempts of ride give amazing impressions!! Car after 3500 revs car behave like a “bullet”, engine rev up as an good Japanese!! At speed of 120 -140 km/h is possible to break the grip… Next planned changes are exchange of gearbox and software…
